Lake Reflections

I like the contradictions in this image. The light is really harsh and bright and yet the overall feeling is one of tranquility.

I'm starting to get into old Russian lenses. I like the fact that they aren't quite technically as "perfect" as Japanese lenses and not quite as sharp or clinical as German lenses. Lots of unique character to be had there.

As I mentioned before, the light was harsh in this scene which made exposure a little rough. I rated the Foma film at ISO 50 and developed in very diluted Rodinal to tame the contrast. Even with these measures it still came out contrasty but at least I still have some details left in the shadow areas.

Camera: Kiev 88
Film: Fomapan 100
Location: Buck Lake, OR
